Standing Ovation

Standing Ovation at the FM 98.5 CKWR Benefit Concert in Kitchener (more here). Please also check out the Guest Book. It includes fantastic comments about the concert and more.

International singer/songwriter/yodeler and radio host Christine Schuhmann is well-known for her musical variety which includes European Folk, Classical Pop, Gospel, original music as well some classical compositions. She delivers elegant, arresting performances. Airplay of her songs, TV shows and radio interviews with Christine reveal the musical variety of this unique performer to the appreciative audiences. Her fan community is growing steadily around the world.

Christine's first CD "Pop Classics" was produced and recorded in Europe.

Her solo-album "Hand in Hand" soothes the soul with beautiful original music, arranged and recorded by eleven-time Juno nominated and award-winning producer DAN DONAHUE (Valdy, Heather Bishop, Fred Penner, Connie Kaldor, Duotang, Tom Jackson, Manitoba Baroque Ensemble, Pan American Games).

With the CD "Beautiful Sounds of Europe", which includes original and popular cover songs and yodeling, Christine takes the listeners on a musical trip through Europe.

Her penultimate release "Star of the East" contains a fine selection of rearranged popular and great Christmas songs in a variety of instrumentations, and with

Her latest recording "Sounds of Music" Christine Schuhmann sets a landmark of her career again. The fine singer from Canada has not forgotten the love to her native country of Switzerland, the title of her album also betrays this. With 22 timeless world hits - upbeat songs, as well soothing music and well-known pieces for the lover of classical tunes - the new album reflects a big multicultural linguistic skill (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Swiss and German) as well as a wide music spectrum again.

Meaningful lyrics are important to Christine. Her crystal clear voice, wide vocal range and distinct pronunciation inspires and amazes her audiences at all times while she is performing. She is multilingual (English, French, German, Swiss and some Italian), but also sings "Ave Maria" in Latin and "Via Dolorosa" in Spanish perfectly. Christine is noted for her versatility. She is also well-liked by people of all ages for her charming personality and professional stage presence.

Inspiring quotes (more here):

"As soon as Christine enters the stage, the eyes and ears of the audience stay focused on this professional and inspiring performer. Christine's music is uplifting, soothes the soul, is full of harmony and, last but not least, comes from a big loving heart. She wants to make everybody happy with her songs. This wonderful lady is not only gifted with a beautiful extra ordinary voice and vocal range but also with a loving kindness that lights up a dark room like the bright sunshine at noon on a hot summer day. Her friendly, caring personality is for many a shining example.

God gave Christine very special talents - a voice and a heart like an angel - and we should support her in any way possible by helping her make a difference. We can only win by doing this!"

"Dear Christine,

Thank you for replying to my letter. And thank you for your enclosures. I congratulate on your success. Your voice is amazing!

...Now I must tell you a story. In 2007 I purchased your CD ‘Beautiful Sounds of Europe'. On that CD #4 is ‘Mother, How Are You Today'. On September 25 of 07 my daughter Karen passed away at age 44, due to leg amputation, 10 days after surgery. For some reason I was drawn to that CD. I really listened to it with my heart. That CD was like Karen speaking to me. Isn't it amazing what a song can do? It seems as though it was written just for me. You see we are all united. Thought you might like to know. She had 3 children and her husband."
